Put Your Talk Where Your Fork Is

20061017EpicureKorchi

Epicure recently put out a call to readers to submit a two hundred word review of a Melbourne dining experience. So I did, and I got in! Woo hoo! You can view a larger image of my review here.

The Elegant Gourmand (whom I am so very lucky to be dating) also had a review published. If you look in the paper, well he’s the one on top ;) You can view a larger image of his review here.

Hi there Haalo! Over the moon is an understatement. Over the universe is more like it ;-)

Thanks for the congrats Sussan. I know…food blogging is definitely a hazard!

    Serenity Later:

congrats on the reviews! it’s so weird to say this but on reading the article on epicure (which i do so religiously!) i couldn’t help but think that the reviews particularly of the korean place had a familiar tone to them, much like your reviews on your blog. who knew!? john lethlean can stay away as long as he likes, i reckon!

    kitchen hand:

    Congratulations - both! Great reviews.

Seems food writers are either being kicked out of restaurants or supplanted by bloggers!

Thanks serenity later - uh huh, you have a great memory. I’ve been to A Taste of Korchi a few times (…it is really really good!), and so just rejigged my existing review.

Thank-you kitchen hand! Yes, there has been much hullabaloo in the food writing world of late, huh? ;)

    ElegantGourmand:

Congratulations Mellie, and thank you for including my review on your website ;) I think it’s a fantastic achievement and honour to be published in The Age. We should both be very proud of our efforts!!

I read this yesterday and was thinking, HEY, I KNOW that chick, and I READ THAT review first (on this very blog)! I was wondering what you and ol’ EG had goin’ on, seems like he figured a lot in your postings of late. :)

    Congrats on both fronts.

Congratulations. That’s so exciting, and a very well-written review too (so is EG’s of course!). It’s no surprise they were both published. Good on you both!

Hey elegantgourmand - damn, I think this is cause for celebration!

Hiya Emzeegee - thanks for your well wishes. Uh huh…it’s been a good (and busy!) few months of late. We need to catch up and debrief over a real bloody croissant. Will email :-)

Hey anon Leila - thanks for the congrats!

G’day Helen - thank you very much :-) I must admit to having a good chuckle when I found out we were both being published at the same time. How coincidental!
