Crunky
Lotte makes a lotta stuff, and in this case it is the Crunky Bar. So let me digress for a moment as I found the company quite interesting. Operating since 1948, Lotte is named after Char-lotte, a heroine of Johan Wolfgang Von Goethe. The company, which primarily commenced as a confectionary manufacturer, also diversifies into a McDonalds style fast food chain (famous for its shrimp burger), a baseball team and a company that produces disposable body warmers. Yes. I see their diversification strategy is really quite diverse.
Anyway, the etymology of the word Crunky is rather interesting, but I most like the description by Urban Dictionary - it is the state of being crazy + drunk = crunk, as in “Let’s get crunky!“
So what is Crunky exactly? Well, it’s like a crunchie only crunky. Well no it’s not, but I just wanted to say that. Actually, it is a rather delicious chocolate bar filled with malty rice bubbles. Mmm. Yum.
And once again, it comes with opening instructions. If only life came with similar helpful directions

hi mellie - I liked your infobooth entry - I really want to try the crunchy milk toast - I like the idea of french toast but don’t really like eggs so avoid it but condensed milk is another matter altogether - never say no to it! (But I couldn’t find a comments link on that entry)
BTW - I have tagged you for a meme if you have the time or inclination

Hey johanna - yes, when I hear condensed milk I go all gooey too
I fixed up the comments thingo - for some reason blogger decided to change that setting.
They also do a peanut butter and chocolate french toast. The peanut butter one, which my friend Anna had, was also grilled. I must now go back and sample the chocolate.
Thanks for the tag - I’ll swing by and check it out!

Love the name of the chocolate bar. Is it made of milk chocolate or dark chocolate, Mel? It looks kinda dark in the photo…

where did you find the Crunky Bar? At green mart again?

He cherrie pie - N’ah…not Green Mart this time. I got it at another favourite, Central Grocery (the urban Asian grocer) at Shop LG 73, Melbourne Central. It is downstairs near Coles and the train station entrance.

Hi anon - oooh…I want to try the dark, the white and the sakura flavour (which is cherry, right?). I haven’t seen them here yet - I’ll have to keep my eyes open.
Can’t wait till I go to Japan in October so I can sample all these delights!

I am a fan of Lotte products. I like their ice creams; especially the Big Waffle. I haven’t seen their chocolate bars.
The Central Grocery is a good shop.
I got my first Lotte ice cream from the Korean/Japanese convenience store on the corner of Elizabeth and Victoria Sts in Melbourne.

Hey egghead - yeah, I’ve had a few Lotte products now and think them pretty good for junk food
Oooh, I haven’t had the big waffle yet either. I’ll keep my eye open for it…though its not the weather for icy stuff at the moment.
