Congee is definitely one of my favourite things to eat when I'm not feeling so well. It just goes down so easily. And you have to eat it with yao zha gwei (chinese donuts) if you can buy some. I'm about to eat some congee now for my upset stomach cannot stomach much else.

Hi yongtze - thank you for the wonderful recipe! It absolutely rocked.

Hey anna - I'll have to take you out for congeee (after we go to all the other places that are on our list!)

Hi there mouse - it's also good for when you just want something rather healthy (after scrafing something disgustingly decadent elsewhere ;-))

Hey there cherrie pie - I did see the lugaw post on your site, which I guess is very similar to congee (as you said). The addition of minced garlic and onion would certainly add a bit more flavour.

Hi there mouse – it’s also good for when you just want something rather healthy (after scrafing something disgustingly decadent elsewhere )

I, too love congee. It's very comforting when I'm feeling sick. I have yet to try making it myself though. You did a great job!
