Hi Lizard - glad you enjoy the blog! I have so many blog posts from my Japan trip waiting in drafts. I really do have to get around to writing them, because I really was quite smitten with the place!

I was pleasantly surprised with Gonpachi too. I thought it might be too twee, too hyped after all the Kill Bill thing, but the food was just amaing.

And yes, I most certainly intend on returning!

Hello!!!

This is a *fantastic* site I've stumbled onto - I've been flicking through those pages, and I recognised this place!

I was in Japan last year and I was surprised with a dinner there - and I must say, it was sheer divinity. I sampled foies gras for the first time there, and it tasted like the most richest and rarest wagyu beef ever - it was actually on a kushi, drizzled with balsamic vingear and with strawberry silvers. Next time you visit, please do go there for dinner! Keep up the food blogging! :)

Hi Lisa - actually, we were surprised at how reasonable it was! We had a lunch set for 20000 yen, which at the time was $20AU (probably more like $30 now). We got all of the above except the toro (skewered tuna belly). That was an extra 14000 yen (if memory serves), but oooooh so worth every cent. Make sure to make a booking though! It's a fabulous place.
