Okay…now for a bit of shameless self-promotion. Late last year I was fortunate enough to contribute to a funky little guide about some of the more intriguing places in my home town, Melbourne. It has just hit bookstores/shops this month (RRP $14.95), and I must admit, I feel a little bit chuffed to have my name in print!

That’s great Mellie – congratulations!
I will have to keep an eye out for it in the shops, it looks like a nifty gift for anyone new to the city (and perhaps a refresher for some of us who’ve settled into comfortable habits).
New blog post: Hide & Seek Melbourne http://tinyurl.com/dbmdla
I have just discovered your wonderful blog and have spent quite a few hours going through all your posts! I have accumulated a list full of places I’ll have to visit soon based on your awesome photos and comments!
congratulation!
I will get one for sure
Congrats
Looks good – will have a look for it next time I dare let myself into a bookshop
Ohhh wow! Congrats! I was in Borders a week ago and I was reading that book!!
By the way did you go to any food and wine festival events? Can’t wait to see ur blog!!!!!!
Hey, congratulations. First your blog is practically a restaurant’s official website and now your name is in print. Way to go.
Hi Cindy – thanks for your congrats! Yup – I think it’s a great little guide to pass on to interstaters/oversea’ers for those more interesting places to visit. And I must confess, I too learned of some new places – and I’m born and bred in Melbourne!
Hello Rilsta – welcome to the blog! Glad you’ve found some places you want to try. Please feel free to write up your thoughts in the comments to inform other readers as well. Hope you have some memorable dining experiences!
Hey Jutapha – hope you like it!
G’day AOF – oh, sounds like you and I suffer the same illness. I can’t enter a bookstore either without losing a couple of hours of my life.
Hi Piggy Eatalot – unfortunately I didn’t go to any of the GFWF events (I know, I know, I’m such a bad foodie). Life/work has been a little all-consuming of late. I’ve been reading some of your posts, and I’m jealous!
Hey Ali-K – thanks for the congrats as well! Hmm…I kind of feel all embarrassed now
Mellie – I’m a regular (but lurking regular) of your blog and saw the book in passing on my way to the USA an fell in love with it. As a book to share as a gift places that I would regularly visit an with such wonderful photos it’s much better than any Lonely Planet guide to showcase this city. Thanks for contributing to such a great little book that will do wonders for Melbourne. I’m even thinking of getting a few spare to dispatch to friends who spent time in Melbourne but are now living elsewhere to share with their friends in other corners of the globe. If you know of any other books like this I’d love to hear about them!
Another note of thanks for the post on +39. The aged cheese platter was fantastic and a great way to unwind midweek.
Hey there Simon – thanks for your lovely comment! Hide & Seek was very much a new concept for the publisher, and I think they’re going to see how it goes here in Melbourne before doing the other capital cities. But it does offer a great snapshot of some of the more unique Melbourne spots. I personally think it looks great!
Oh..and glad you enjoyed the Aged Cheese platter at +39. I’m off to try another one tonight, so might have somewhere else for you to visit
A great publication highlighting hidden melbourne – worth every dollar
